What is Elk River Archery Club
WHY: We started as a couple friends who picked up archery bows at the same time and quickly discovered how much more fun—and how much faster we improved—when we shot together. Over time, we met more people with the same interest: folks who loved shooting but were mostly doing it on their own.
In a small mountain town on the edge of Yellowstone, community matters. It’s not just about connecting with others, but knowing you’re not alone when things get tough—whether that’s losing an arrow or getting stuck in the snow.
So a group of friends who enjoy shooting bows and doing life together formed this small nonprofit social club. Our goal is simple: build community, sharpen one another, and bring people together around a hobby that’s usually done solo.
WHAT WE DO: We get together on a monthly basis to shoot our bows while also doing community.
What does this look like? Well here are a few things we do:
- Getting bows sighted-in together before hunting season.
- Participating in league competition shoots together.
- Traveling together to statewide 3D archery shoots.
- Sharing some Bbq after some fun 75+ yard shots.
- Sharing about archery-related events happening.
- Grabbing a pint at a local brewery and sharing hunt stories.
- Supporting the local school NASP program
- Education nights about different aspects of archery.
- Sharing resources held within the club (bow-press, grinder, etc.)
THE KEY: TOGETHER
GIVING BACK: Through Elk River Archery club we hope to create a place were people of all skill levels and experience can enjoy the sport of archery in community with others. Through an annual membership fee we aim to support this community and the larger one by help people find a place where they can connect and know they have support both in archery and in life.
To help others get into the the sport, a portion of the annual membership will go to supporting our Buy-A-Bow program. This program is designed to buy a bow for someone who would like to get into the sport but the cost of entry is a barrier. Learn more at our “Buy-A-Bow” page (link below).

At Elk River Archery Club, our mission is to promote the sport of archery as a means of personal growth, community connection, and mental wellness in Park County and surrounding area. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals of all ages and skill levels can experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of archery. Through education, practice, and competition, we foster discipline, personal growth, and resilience while strengthening bonds within our community. Our goal is to make archery accessible to all, encouraging a lifelong passion for the sport while enhancing well-being and personal development.
